2011...what you were all about

January: I went back to school at EA to start my last semester there. I had no idea where I was going to go after that, but I knew I was graduating that semester.

February: Things got pretty serious between Dan and I. We knew we were going to get married, just not when or any of those other minor details. I also applied to BYU. It was pretty much the only option I had left. ASU's nursing program was just a numbers game, and I couldn't count on that. So I applied.

March: We got engaged!!! That's right! We were getting married. Then commenced the insufferable wedding planning. Just kidding, it really wasn't bad, mostly because I didn't care. Sorry Mom!! We went wedding dress shopping over spring break and found the perfect dress!

April: I found out I got into BYU...so after Texas we were headed to Provo. School was winding down for the semester, and I think it finally started to hit me that I would really miss Thatcher.

May: I went through the temple for my own endownments. That was such a special day for both of us. I loved every minute of it. Actually I was pretty violently sick 3 days before...like throwing up and peeing out my bum (sorry for the visual). So I didn't really eat anything and my mom was all freaked out I would pass out during the temple ceremony.
Oh...and we got married...and moved to Texas, where it's hotter than Satan's balls....and gradumacated from EAC. Woot woot!!

June: May was pretty busy, and June was a nice month of relaxation. I got to be great friends with Jaynee, and I'm so grateful that we did become friends. Oh and I got a wicked tan. I guess that Texas sun and heat is good for something.

July: Fourth of July bbq with Edge, and more of Dan selling door to door. Still had a wicked tan. It was awesome.

August: Jaynee left Texas so she could hang out in Pima, and LEAVE ME...but mostly so that Izzee girl could come whenever she decided to. The A/C went out in the car. We were sweating our little hineys off anywhere we went. We had to replace an engine mount on the car...and then everything worked perfectly!! Seriously, we found the best mechanic that fixed our car for a screamin deal!! But on the brighter side of things, we did get GREAT gas mileage while the A/C was out. I left to come to Provo and started school the last week in August.

September: You sucked. I was alone. It was awful. But on the brighter side (again) I started watching Kason once a week while Jami was at institute, and that was actually pretty fun. He definitely kept me on my toes. I also had class with Caitlin twice a week, and that was always entertaining. Then Dan came home!!! Woo hoo!! HAPPY HAPPY DAY!!!

October: General Conference was awesome! Loved it. Halloween was awesome at Jeni's house! Oh and I found out I got into the nursing program at BYU!!

November: Thanksgiving!! It was so good to see my family again. They came up for Thanksgiving and we had it with the Kimball side of the family. Black Friday shopping...at 10am. So much better than 4am.

December: The long (actually short) haul to finals. Finals. Shoot me. School's out!! And our very first Christmas together. I still have to blog about that. It was awesome though. I love it. And tonight is New Years Eve. Pretty excited about that!!

2011 has been wonderful. I learned a lot about myself as a person, and as a friend, especially adapting to the marriage relationship. It's been a learning experience, but an enjoyable and exciting one. And it can only up from here.

My rice maker tried to shank me!

Gospel truth. I was cleaning the top lid thingy and right under the rubber piece is a sharp piece of metal!! It sliced my finger clean open. That was yesterday. My finger still hurts....and the cut still hasn't closed. Boo.

Today...I really miss the cotton fields in Thatcher. Today feels like one of those days we'd go take pictures in it and laugh hysterically while taking them.
I really miss my friends too. A lot actually. It sucks when you really had it great for awhile, and trying to find something or someone to even compare-that is quite a challenge. Don't get me wrong, I love love love Dan, but it's not the same as your girlfriends.

On a MUCH happier and brighter note, Jennifer Curtis and I have devised a plan: HOW TO COMPLETELY DOMINATE OUR NEXT CHEMISTRY TEST.
It goes like so:
Start studying 2 weeks before the test for an hour on Saturdays (that's this Saturday, mind you we just had a test on Friday of last week).
Then the week of the test, we study every day for an hour, even if it's at 11 at night.

I think it's a pretty good plan. That way number 1, we all actually study, and number 2, we can help each other. After all, college is all about the study groups. Rude that no one has invited us to be in theirs. Selfish.

Last night, Dan and I were looking at Hawaiian wedding rings because for my next ring (keep in mind I'm planning 10 + years into the future) I want a Hawaiian one. Ps they're beautiful!

And they match!! So anyway, we were looking at them last night just for fun and Dan says to me, "Don't worry about the price. (brief pause) Oh crap, it's right there!"
I was laughing so hard! He's so cute.

Then 2 nights ago (sorry I've failed to blog in the last couple of days, so I've got to play catch up) we were watching all these veggie tale videos on youtube from Silly Songs with Larry. Dan has never seen Veggie Tales, and so we just kept clicking on more and more videos to watch. We were laughing so hard.
Personal Favvv:

Oh and today is my five, yes FIVE! month anniversary of being married to Dan! And as of yesterday, we've been dating for one year...no wonder 5 months doesn't feel like that's nearly long enough. :] love you mumu

Dear EAC

As I sit here, debating my future and the inevitability that I am going to BYU in August, I've been reflecting as of late on my days in good ole Thatcher. This post has been in the works for quite some time, but I've got a few minutes, and I figured it's better late than never to write this one.

Thatcher. The kind of one horse town you read about in western novels. Now a days, there are 3 lights across the whole town. Then there's Safford on one side and Pima on the other. The biggest concentration of people is probably at the college. When I decided to go to EA, it was honestly because I didn't have any other options. I didn't want to go to ASU, U of A, NAU or BYU. So I'd kind of limited myself down to community college. My mom and I got up at 6 am to drive down for a preview day of the campus. It was empty. Everyone was apparently at a chili picking service project. But it was pretty, and small, a little more my style. They had just broken ground for the temple. We'd looked up off campus housing because I was going to avoid the freshman 15 at all costs, and that included not eating cafeteria food. My mom and I checked out Goodman apartments, got me signed up on the list, and we started on the long drive back to Phoenix. I didn't really feel one way or the other. It was fine, and they had a nursing program that I could actually get into. That was December of 2008.

Fast forward, August 2009.

Dear EAC,

You've watched me grow up and experience so many new things in this one horse town. I've learned so much about the kind of person that I am and want to be. I've made so many new friends, and I've also made friendships that will last a lifetime. I didn't understand when my mom said that it's the friends in college that you'll be friends with for the rest of your life. Looking back, she's so right. It's that group of friends that we've all seen each other through our first and second years of college. We've seen each other through that initial moving out and being on our own, struggling for precious pennies to go grocery shopping, and having so much fun without having to spend a single cent. I will miss those precious precious memories.

You've given me experiences that I could have never had anywhere else. You allowed me to be close to the Spirit and to the Lord. I've never felt such peace just looking out over the beauty that surrounds me in a cotton field.

You watched me meet and crush hard on Dan only to have it thrown in my face. You watched me become bitter and angry towards him, only to have me find forgiveness and friendship the next year. You watched me fall for him, and fall hard. You watched me hold back, and hold onto things from the past to where I almost lost him. You watched us fall in love with each other with all of our hearts. You saw me through the stress of planning a wedding, only to get violently sick from the Presidents BBQ three days before I went through the temple. You were there as I stepped through those temple doors and received my endowments and made covenants that are so precious and sacred to me.

You were there as I packed my car and drove away from Goodman apartments, the activities center, the Super Stop, and the temple for one last time. You were there as I realized that this temple that has meant so much to me is something that I will not see for a long long time. You were there as that broke my heart driving away.

You were there when I began to more fully trust in the Lord as I stressed over my HESI, only to pass with flying colors. You were there when my faith was shaken as I tried to decide what to do with my future after denying acceptance into the nursing program.

You were there as I met the best friends anyone in this entire world could ask for. They have each and every one of them brought something so special to my life. I can honestly say that if anything were to happen, they would all have my back. You know how they say a good friend will come bail you out of jail, but a best friend will be sitting right there with you? Well I'm pretty sure the jail cell would be super full if something went down because we'd all be in there...except for maybe Jacie :] She's just smart enough to know that we're gonna need someone to get us all out!

Anyway, EAC its been a good run. You've brought me the best friends in the entire world, shown me that I am strong and I can take on anything life can throw at me as long as I rely on the Lord, and you were there when I met and fell in love with my very best friend. It's been a great run. I don't know how BYU is gonna be able to top that, but we'll see what that has in store for me!

Sincerely, me

Blah...I'm feeling not so bueno and I don't really want to do too much of anything. Okay I don't want to do anything. Period. I'm sick and tired of doing all the things that I have to do-like write a patho paper, do my homework, study for tests, pack up my apartment. I really just want these next 2 weeks to be over because then I am done and headed out to Texas! I don't know why I feel like everything is going to get so much easier, but I just feel like once this is over, I don't know...maybe I won't be such a crazy person anymore. I just don't want to do anything! It's horrible.

And to top it all off, it is so hard. Especially to try and be happy and be good. All the freaking time. It's so bloody hard and I just wish sometimes it would let up. We fight about the stupidest things and it's not even worth it. I'm sick and tired of dealing with school and the stress of a wedding and the stress of life all at the same time. I'm so done being an absolute b on birth control. If I wasn't so terrified of having an accident baby, I would probably quit taking it.

Oh and Dan decided he wants to do something else, not physical therapy, which, don't get me wrong, that's totally fine by me! I want him to do something that he absolutely loves because he's going to be doing it for the next 40 years or so. I hate that I have to be the biggest fan all the time though and the cheerleader to rally him and keep going. That sounds bad too. I just mean that I wish I wasn't the only one who would support him in his decisions. I hate being the only one. I hate having to be the rock that stays strong when I feel like I'm about ready to fall apart all the time.

That's another thing, I hate feeling like I'm not in control of my life. I seriously feel sometimes like I can't keep myself together or keep myself from falling apart. I saw this great quote over spring break and it said something to the effect of happiness being a choice. I'm trying really hard to live that, and some days it works, other days, not so much. Today is one of those not so much days. It's been a roller coaster. I started out in a grumpy mood, was in a happy mood at institute, then just ticked at devotional, finally pulling it together at the end and now I just don't know what I am. I'm a freaking one woman circus. I'm all over the place.

Let's add just one more thing. As of late, peach has not been too bad. We're pleasantly cordial, and that's more than I can ask. Today though, I'm just so sick of seeing peach all the time. It just makes me sick. I can't wait to get out of this town and delete them on facebook. (I know that sounds super petty, but really...that's what I feel like).

I know I'll miss it and all the great memories and friends I've made here, but right now, I just can't wait to get out. I can't wait to go through the temple and for everything to finally be real. To not have to worry about making it to the temple, but instead to worry about other things...things that we're completely in together. I swear these next couple weeks are going to DRAG ON FOREVER. Maybe I'll grow up, and pull my chin up and enjoy them. After all, this is the last time for a long time that we're probably going to be together. I shouldn't waste it.

The funnies.

So there were two funnies in the last couple of days that I just feel the need to share. Mostly because they make me laugh when I think about them.

First of all, this weekend, Dan and I went home and were hanging out with my family. We were watching Bones (which by the way is a dang good show!) and the episode was about some guys supposedly getting killed by the chupacabra. I'm pretty sure Abbie is the only one who will appreciate that, but I was laughing pretty dang hard because that was our nick name for Guacamole for a while when he was being a major jerk face. So...it just made me laugh...and shake my head...a lot.

Second of all, yesterday Abbie asked me to turn in her English paper for her because she's in the valley for a couple of days and I told her yes of course! So I'm looking for this folder that she wants it put in to go turn in. I'm search the shelf, practically pulling everything off (and Abbie if you're reading this, I put it all back...no worries!) and I couldn't find it! So I called her and she was telling me what it looked like. Brown blue and green stripes. Well I still couldn't find it. So I grabbed a different one and turned in her paper. Well I get home, sit down on my bed, and you're never going to guess what is sitting on the floor right by my bed. Yepp the folder! Dan had used it the night before when he was writing out a work out plan! It was one of those moments that you just laugh but you're like YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! Story of my life.

I'm noticing a pattern...these funnies usually happen when Abbie is around or in mind. POINT OF THE STORY: Abbie come home!!!!! Haha.

Let's end on a funny.
What did the cannibal get when he came home late?

The Cold Shoulder!

The Expert Tanner

Meet Abbie. She is quite the expert when it comes to tanning, especially when she used a 7th dimension bronzer. Oh did I forget to mention she can't use bronzers because she doesn't rub it in all the way?

Exhibit A:

I hope she doesn't hate me for this. But I did tell her I was going to do it.

So Abbs went tanning today and I went along for the ride. She comes out afterwards and is marching...yes marching...straight for the door and she has the funniest look on her face. Well the first thing I noticed was how dark her legs were! DANGGGG GIRL! Then I noticed that she was red. I was dying laughing the whole way home. But man does that stuff work. So if you're looking for a great tanning lotion, use the 7th dimension bronzer with tingley stuff and pink blush stuff.

Ps. She is just very tan now. The reddness and splotchiness have faded...and she looks pretty even now. Lucky duck. Maybe I should use that stuff next time.

Pss. And one more thing. We started the biggest loser contest between our group of friends today. We all took measurements and weighed ourselves and we have the next 4 weeks to drop a few pounds. Shouldn't be too hard to find motivation. After all, I am to be "wedded" as Abbie would say, in exactly one month from today. Don't worry, I'm not excited or anything.

Collectively...we're pretty experienced

Three things in mind today...I'll give you short preview so you don't have to read the whole thing. 1. Abbie came home Friday freaking out about hcg. 2. my roommates and I had an interesting conversation about sex. 3. Dan is the greatest thing that ever happened to me.

Abbie came home freaking out about hcg on Friday after her biology class. She's practically in a panic that she could potentially not have children because hcg can shut down your repo system. It was seriously hilarious because I was just waiting for something to come out saying that hcg was bad for you in some way, because in reality, anything that is that great and that much of a miracle weight loss drug...there has to be some sort of negative effect. Anyway, off my soap box, it was hilarious.

Sunday night, Nicole made the comment that Hope and Jodi told her to never get glow in the dark condoms because "then you see it coming at you swinging." Anyway, needless to say, the rest of the conversation was pretty freaking hilarious. It went all over the place...and it was so funny. We ended up sharing little bits of advice we've heard about what to do or not to do. Collectively...you'd think we're all pretty experienced.

So lastly, and I'm sorry if you don't want to read lovey dovey stuff...you should probably stop now and call this reading done. I love Dan. He was made for me. Yesterday was just not a good day, and I could blame it on a lot of things (namely birth control, $$ stress, and just general wedding planning stress) but that's not the point. The point is I was at my breaking point. I got a phone call from my mom. She told me my dress had gotten shipped to the wrong address, so they were making a new one and it wouldn't make it on time for my wedding. (Shit). Then she told me she was getting it made by someone else and it would be at my house by the end of the month. It was the point that it spilled over. I've been looking forward to trying it on for at least a couple of days now. I just started crying in the institute. I didn't even know what to do, because every little thing I cried harder. Dan finished filling out his home teaching reports and we came back to my apartment. He wanted to watch Tangled, so we popped some popcorn, put the movie in my computer, watched it on my bed. Now this is just one reaffirmation that he was made for me. He watched the movie and I just snuggled up next to him and fell asleep. We didn't have to talk about why I am an emotional wreck and crying all the time, he just loves me anyway and lets me sleep.

As much as he'd probably like to know exactly what I'm feeling, sometimes you just can't talk about it. It's not that you don't want to, you just can't. Maybe I'm crazy and the only one that feels that way. But I love him.

Its funny, we actually got in a fight today about something dumb (well it seems super dumb now) but he was pretty peeved at me for throwing water at him before he went to class. So it was all of this back and forth and blows below the belt, but I realized that I'm getting married to the most amazing person that I've ever met in 31 days. And forgive me for going all gospel right now, but Satan's going to do everything to prevent that. So SCREW YOU SATAN!! I'm walking out of the temple doors on May 13th and there's nothing he can do to prevent that. This is my choice. And it's for forever.

Stop trying to find my dirty underwear

So I had done my laundry (the whites) earlier yesterday and they were on my bed in a pile because I had pulled them out of the laundry and then jumped in the shower--we had just gotten back from an adventure down the canal. So my delicates weren't on parade, but they were sitting rolled up in my sheets, in a pile, on my bed.

Dan and I were sitting on my bed and I was folding the shirts and keeping the delicates in a secretive pile under my pillowcase. WELL...Dan, lovely Dan, starts pulling out the rest of my laundry from being twisted up in the sheets! My underwear was getting PULLED OUT FROM HIDING!! At first, he was embarrassed and said he didn't mean to do it...well then he started doing it just to mess around with me!

So I yelled at him to stop trying to find my dirty underwear! What's even funnier was that there were a few people over that were sitting in our living room....so they probably heard me. Because he refused to quit bugging me, I grabbed a handful and threw it at him. Haha. It was pretty funny...mostly because he was so shocked.

Earlier in the evening yesterday, we were at a meeting for EDGE, the company Dan is working for this summer. Kristi King was trying to use her husband, Shannon, as a footrest. Shannon said, "Dan and I do not have the same color of skin." Kristi, after pondering this for a second, responds, "He's not black!" Oh man...we were laughing so freaking hard. Haha they're hilarious.

This morning, Jacie came over and was talking to Abbie and I for a little bit. Tayler came by to see her and say hello, and Tayler saw Abbie's jeans hanging dry over the banister. He made the comment that whoever's jeans those were had no butt. So Jacie came back into our apartment and told us what he said. Abbie said she was offended. Then Jacie startes yelling out the window at him Tayler!!! TAYLER!!! (I said Jacie maybe if you yell louder he'll hear you) TAYLER!!!!!!!!! Well...he heard her. Haha.

She said, and I quote: Tayler! Abbie is offended you said she has no butt!  He shrugged his shoulders.

Pretty much, Jacie Ames is hilarious. Abbie...is just Abbie. and... Daniel Haban is the love of my life. End of story.

Great quote I heard yesterday:
Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference. --Winston Churchill

Mono. H.

I think it's back for round 2. GRRRRRREAT. Either that or the birth control makes me super tired all the time...particularly in the mornings. So as per my mother's orders...I'm on a strick 1030 curfew. Let's just say that last night it failed epically. I think it was 1145 when Dan actually left. So it's a work in progress.

My mom also said to exercise and so I went and worked out with Dan this morning....wow. I'm pretty sure I don't have the use of my legs right now. Oh well...hopefully they'll start to look good again. That would be nice.

And to add insult to injury, I got lit up like a roman candle yesterday after I went tanning. Holy crap my whole body just itches like crazy, but not the big ones, just the little annoying ones. But as soon as I scratch, my whole back just lights up and burns and itches. It sucks. Oh the price to be tan.

One more thing...I have a cancker sore on the inside of my lip! Seriously...my face is finally cleared up and now I've got all of this. Haha it could be worse right? Stress...it's great. Don't recommend it.

So last night was so fun. Egyptian ratscrew and Scum. Hilarious. I have the best friends. Not to mention that Raegan and Abbie were in a crazy mood yesterday (I'm having some serious deja vu right now) so everything was hilarious. And Jacie made no bake cookies. Man I forgot how good those are.

Anyway, life is grand. Can't complain too much about anything. Well I guess I could, but it would be severely pointless. You know, at one point I had a topic of interest to write about for this blog. But alas, it has escaped me. Oh well.

One more thing...yesterday the Baptists came by and were knocking on our door. Well Abbie and Rustin both didn't want to answer it, so I did. Well, let's just say I'm never answering the door again. Okay, it wasn't really that bad at all, but it was super funny, kind of awkward. They told me they were from the New Testament church and asked if I attended church regularly. I said yes. They asked which one. Cheerfully, I said oh that LDS church right there (across the canal). TURNING POINT OF CONVERSATION. The man looked at me and said well that's lovely. Can I leave you with a scripture? Of course I said. They were very polite, I couldn't say no. Well the scripture is Hebrews 13:8-9. I read it after they left and I gotta say...it doesn't really make too much sense to me. So if someone would care to explain that would be much appreciated. Anyway, they wished me a blessed afternoon and it was just peachy. The end.

Food for thought:
3 Nephi 26:11
"I will try the faith of my people."

There it is...written out very straightforward and plain. We're here to be tested and to have our faith tried. It's nice to know that at least He tells us flat out what's up.

Awkward conversations.

So I still have 2 hours before class starts!! Ahhh...then I can leave and go home! It's seriously crawling by. I just might die. On a brighter note, I definitely had one of the funniest/most awkward conversations of my life last night. Okay, so it wasn't really awkward, the subject matter is though. So if' you're faint of heart, stop reading...because the next few paragraphs might shock your heart right out of you.

Last night, Abbie and I went downstairs to Nicole's apartment to visit her. Well, then we started talking about getting married and stuff and Tiffany asked me if I was gonna go get waxed? HELL NO!!That crap hurts! I can barely make it through my eyebrows without tearing up, and you just wanna jump the gun straight to the big mama? Bahhhh... Then we proceeded to argue, okay not really argue, but discuss the different sides. Nicole votes no because "he's gonna sleep with you anyway." But Tiffany says yes because it would be nicer or something like that.

Anyway, I still have yet to decide...no worries. I've got 2 months to figure this out haha. I'll take a poll. I'm pretty sure I know what answer I'm gonna get though. Suck. A Fish. Two of them.

Speaking of awkward conversations, my sister (Rylee) just texted me two of the most random things ever! My bridal shower is next Saturday, and this is what she said to me:

"Ha well that should be interesting. Do u think people r gonna buy u lingerie :P"

WTH?! Seriously I was shocked. The next one is better.

"Hahaha!! Shar said that for robs wife mandy her friends got her like nasty stuff like hard core corsets and junk. I hope u don't get that stuff :P"

Seriously, this little smiley face at the end is freaking me out.
Poor Rylee...if only she knew. haha.

Oh the scandalous life I lead...

So I just realized in the midst of Abbie cracking up while she’s writing her research paper rough draft (that’s due in less than 8 hours I might add) and sucking down her second 44 oz DP for the day, that while everyone was over earlier…our closet door was WIDE OPEN.

Now while this may not seem like a terribly tragic event, it really is. Detrimental in fact. Let me elaborate…but only a little further because you see I have a test in 12 hours that I still have yet to study for. No worries, it’s just Sociology. But I would be in bed and fast asleep right now if it weren’t for freaking facebook. That’s for another paragraph.

Back on topic: today was laundry day, so naturally I washed my bras. Well, I don’t know about you, but I don’t dry my bras in the dryers. They wear out faster…and let’s face facts: when you have to wear the sucker every day for a large portion of the day, they wear out fast enough on their own. No need to speed up the process. So I always hook them together and drape them across my hanging shoe rack in my closet. It provides the perfect place to both conceal them and dry them as well.

So you see, when everyone was over…they got a GREAT view of all my scandalous delicates—aka the bras.

And one more thing…facebook is of the devil!! I seriously got on the computer to resend and email at 1215. I checked facebook just to see if there were any notifications or messages. There were. Checked, replied, and then I made the fatal mistake. I started reading the news feed…and then proceeded to stalk a few people, creep on their pictures, found out someone was pregnant…and then came to terms (or merely made the observation) that everyone is either getting married or pregnant! Holy cahmoly! I’m not joking…it’s like the plague! And I got sucked into it!

Oh well…I’d take him any day. So that’s that. Facebook is evil. My delicates were on parade tonight. And I haven’t shot myself over wedding planning yet. Bahaha…probably because I haven’t really started. That is all. The end. Goodnight.

Leprosy and a Pimple...WTH?!?!

I'm convinced God has a sense of humor, because 1. I went to bed already starting to peel from my lovely sunburn, and 2. I woke up this morning with the works of a HUGE pimple coming along. GREAT. It makes it even better that Abbie says this, and I quote: I have no sympathy for you. Haha love you Abbs!!

Seriously though, it sucked...and pretty much made me want to hide out all day...well for the rest of the week at least until this peeling thing settles down. The pimple I can live with, shoot that's why there is make up! But seriously, peeling is just down right nasty! Yuck!! I hate it and it's my own skin!!

It's pretty funny though because Dan came by in between classes to see me (awwww) and I just didn't even want to see him! Okay, let me rephrase that, I did want to see him more than anything, but I didn't want him to see me. Understandable right? So I just covered half my face and said I look disgusting! Which this is most definitely truth, and I wasn't compliment fishing at all...just saying how I felt about the whole "sloughing of the fried skin" look.

Let's just say that I've got the best boyfriend ever...because he still thought I looked good. Maybe because he's supposed to, maybe because that's what girls usually want to hear, but maybe because he really loves me for me...good day or bad one. And I love him too. Presh.

Anyway...point of story: I have leprosy and a pimple and am in dire need of a shower, especially to make an appearance at Dan's basketball game tonight. Haha...sooooo vain sometimes. But hey everyone is entitled to those moments every now and again right? Which brings me to the real question: should I wear my hair curly or straight?

I'm having a party...a party for two

Sierra Vista Weekend: BEST THING EVER!

Well this action packed weekend started off on Friday night. Let's just say that Thatcher has got to be one of the most exciting places around...especially when everyone just up and leaves. But really, it ends up being these times that we have the most fun. Well, we decided that we wanted to go out to Roper Lake because they had a hot tub so we wanted to go. When I say we, this is who I mean: Me, Dan, Raegan, Hannah Gunderson, Cody Elmer, Kelton Merrill, Blaine Greer, Brian Baldwin, Stephanie Daley, Hillary Savage, and Jessica Martindell.

So long story short, we go out to Roper and the guard is still there, so we went to the duck ponds at the fair grounds to wait until 1030 ish so we could go back there. We were running around playing tunnel tag and throwing the ball around. It was actually pretty fun. There was one point where I was frozen, so Blaine is going through my legs--keep in mind that Blaine is 6'3" or 6'4" so he's a tall guy--and he starts to stand up before he's gotten all the way through so his hips catch my legs and I end up jumping up and almost falling over because of it. It was so funny! But what was funnier what that not even 5 minutes later, the exact same thing happened to Jessica when Brian went to go under her!

We went back out to Roper and the guard was just patrolling around the park...so needless to say, we weren't getting into the hot tubs tonight. So we decided to go out to the river and have a bonfire and possibly get into the water. I mean it's only February. The water can't be that cold right? WRONG!! So we got the bonfire started and all the  boys went into the river and jumped in except for Blaine...pansy. Haha just joking. So then the boys spent the rest of the night throwing all of us girls in. Yeah that water was dang freaking cold. Don't worry, I tried to fight it and I have the bruises on the back of my legs to prove it, but to no avail. I still got dumped in. It. Was. Awesome. NOT.

Saturday morning, Dan and I left for Sierra Vista around 8 in the morning. We were only a half an hour late...and this is the first time that it's been my fault. I think that's a record or something. Anyway, we get to Sierra Vista around 10 and hung out with his parents for a little bit, made some muffins--which were delicious!, and then ended up taking like a two hour nap. I tell ya, naps might just be one of the best things ever. So after our lovely little nap, we made some chocolate chip cookies and popcorn. Are you seeing a theme here? We bake a lot! That night for dinner we went and got chipotle, and I'm pretty sure that was a little bit of heaven in a burrito. I haven't had that for over a year and it was sooo delicious. Thinking about it makes my mouth water. YUMMMM.

Sunday we had church at 1...so that kind of sucked waiting around forever for it to finally be 1. It was good though. I met all of Dan's friends and his bishop told us that we should just get married already. Haha funny stuff. So in Relief Society, they asked me to introduce myself and I was like "Umm...I'm Arielle." Then Megan butted in and said "She's my roommate and Dan Haban's friend" along with Sister Goates who also said "She's Dan Haban's friend!" Yeah I think I turned ten different shades of red and realized why I don't like being the visitor. It's so awkward! Haha his mom wasn't even there to introduce me :[ she was sick.

Matt and Rhianna got there around 5 and we had chicken enchiladas for dinner!! Oh man...you know I'm pretty biased when it comes to cooking because let's face it...my mom's is the best, but oh dang Dan's mom's cooking runs a dang close second. It's that good. See why I probably gained weight? Haha so we just hung out with them and played a game of Monopoly with cards. I don't remember what it was called but it was pretty fun.

Monday we had a delicious breakfast with eggs and bacon and french toast and then we went fishing. Well I've never been fishing...and the whole concept of it still being alive when you grab it out of the net to take the hook out of it's mouth is just NASTY! Matt caught the first fish and had it right behind my head so when I turned around...there was mister fish all flopping around right in my face!! YUCK! So I jumped up and screamed GET THAT THING AWAY FROM ME! Everyone turned and looked at me...and then Dan's family started laughing at me...probably thinking why in the heck did we bring her along? But when Dan caught a fish, he made me hold it and oh my gosh I was holding that thing as far away from me as possible. The pictures will come one day, but they are pretty funny. I'm standing as far away from the fish as possibly while still holding it. It's hilarious. Then Dan and I hiked around the lake for a little bit. It was super pretty and we skipped some rocks...okay attempted to skip some rocks...we suck at it. Pretty bad.

Oh I neglected to mention how sunburned I got! I totally forgot to wear a hat or put on sunscreen! So my face looks like a tomato!! Monday night we went on a pajama run to McD's for a ice cream cone. It was delicious. On pajama runs though, you have to run out to the car in whatever you have on, so Dan wouldn't even let me put my shoes on so he gave me a piggy back ride to the car. Haha. We came back on Tuesday and it was just a fun little ride home. I was feeding Dan some chicken enchiladas and I was doing the airplane and the choo choo train because he was driving. Oh man...it's a good thing he loves me because sometimes I'm freaking weird. Haha.

Long story short: this weekend was the bomb dot com and I'm pretty sure I gained 10 lbs...and I loved every minute of it! The end.

Well I've been afraid of changing

"...cause I've built my life around you. But time makes you bolder, children get older, and I'm getting older too."

Alright that doesn't really have anything to do with my blog post. Actually it has nothing to do with it, it was just the song that was playing when I started writing this...or rather thinking up what to write. As of late, I've been terrible about blogging. But lets look at the facts: 1. I'm not cute and married. 2. I don't have kids to tell funny stories about. and 3. Well life has been pretty entertaining lately, but I just don't have the time to sit down and write it all. (I'll probably wish I had one day...oh well).

So last night Dan and I were just talking about his brother and we don't really talk about it too much. I'm not uncomfortable asking him about it, but it makes me so sad because I think of  my little brother (crap I'm crying already and I haven't even typed that much! Ahh I really hate being a girl sometimes) and just how much that would impact my life, how much I love that little man and how I have always looked forward to seeing him get the priesthood in a few years and then go on mission a few years after that and then getting married one day. I've always been excited to have one more sister!

Back on topic: the thought crossed my mind about being on the flip side of that situation and having that happen to your best friend or husband. I don't really know a whole lot about the situation and I've never met Dan's sister in law, but I just started crying last night. Its funny how the thought of losing someone makes you realize how much you can't live without them. I honestly don't know what I'd do without him. Yeah he's a pain in the butt sometimes and knows just how to push my buttons, but I wouldn't trade any of it for the world. The little stinker made me fall in love with him!

I was thinking about lots of people that I know and how much so many of them have had to deal with in their lives and not to compare my life and my trials with theirs, but for comparison's sake, my life has been relatively easy, which makes me absolutely terrified for what is ahead. I look at those people that have had to deal with a lot more than maybe they probably deserved, but they have come out on top, and they are some of the strongest people I know. I envy that strength just a little bit, in that they have it and could probably conquer the world with it if they wanted. I hope this is making sense, because it sounds pretty good in my head but might not be coming out so well.

I was reading my patriarchal blessing a few nights ago and it mentions that I've been blessed for the family I've been put into, and thinking about it just now makes me realize how truly blessed I am. I've never questioned whether or not I was loved, I've always known that my parents love each other (even though my sisters and I scream and yell THATS GROSS when they kiss each other). I've been truly and richly blessed in my life with perfect examples of hard work and love and making a marriage and a family work. My family is not perfect by any means, and I'm sure we could give some people and run for their money with how much we fight sometimes, but at the end of the day, I wouldn't doubt that we would kill for each other.

Nothing is ever going to be perfect in our lives, and there are always going to be trials. Life is never going to be easy, but it will always be worth it. I don't want to live a day without my best friend, but if that is what is asked of me one day, I hope that I can face fire and keep on fighting. I hope that I can always live worthy to go to the temple and feel the peace that it has to offer. I am so grateful for the blessings I've been given in the best roommates, especially Abbie. We get a long pretty dang good and I'm so glad that she wanted to live with me! She is so strong and is a perfect example of taking it each day at a time: some days you slip and other days you're on top of the world.

Anyway, that is all. Now that I'm looking at it, this starts off super depressing. Woops! Not what I meant to do at all. But at least it's out there and off my chest for a little while.

Off to the gym! Tootles :]

Some food for thought. Swish it around in your mouth and think about it:
"In the end, everything will be okay. If it's not okay, it's not the end."

There she goes...There she goes again...

Wow this was a freakin awesome weekend!! I mean, most of our weekends end up being pretty legit, but this one was SAWEET! Brief overview: Pizza and Ice Cream making date on Friday, Caves on Saturday, In-N-Out after the caves, Dan teaching church on Sunday, epic heist of a coveted DVD, classes on Monday, and the RAIN, FHE Monday night with Howie--it's not as bad as it sounds, and ending the night with my love. Woo!! I'm already excited about writing this! Let's get started!!

The date was super fun!! I'm glad I had Dan though...because the company  wasn't exactly my favorite in the entire world. Alright, let's just be honest, they bug me...especially since one of them does not like me at all but puts on the super nice "oh how are you?!" face--psh like they actually care. Haha. Whatever. It was fun though making the pizza and putting all the toppings and stuff. Dan is pretty much a pro pizza maker! We played Just Dance on the wii while the pizza cooked and Dan and I won almost every time. It was probably the remote...haha who am I kidding...Dan and I are AMAZING dancers! After the pizza, we had homemade ice cream!! Nothing short of delicious! We went over to the institute to watch Despicable Me afterwards. It was the YSA activity for Friday night. If you haven't seen it, I'd totally recommend it.

After the movie, we all went over to Tiffany's house and had cake and ice cream for Jacquelyn's birthday. Then Kacey the Magnifico arrived!! She did some awesome magic tricks...and we're hiring her for Abbie's birthday for sure!

Saturday, we headed down to Tucson to go caving! Yes we were climbing through small passageways and ended up covered in dirt and crap all over ourselves. There was even a dog with a flashlight around his collar who followed us around for a little bit. We found one of the lakes that is in the cave and Rustin Jones, Jared Haymore, and Travis Catt all jumped in and were swimming around in there for a little bit. YUCK!! They said it felt pretty good actually, but I wasn't about ready to jump in stagnant water. Who the heck knows what is growing in there! We made it to the book this time!! All of us made it! Well except for Jared Haymore, Dan and Kendall Rapier. They decided to go off on their own adventure and got left behind. We signed their names anyway.

After we got out of the caves, we went to In-N-Out for dinner. Oh my goodness I forgot how much I love that place! It might have been because I was so hungry that anything honestly sounded good, but it was super yummy and made my tummy quite happy. On the drive back, Rustin mooned Tiffany's car as we passed them. As soon as we got off the off-ramp, we pulled over because Rustin had to pee. We drove a little ways up the road just to mess with him and we see this car pull up and just shine their lights on him. Turns out, it was Tiffany's car and they stayed there and were dancing for all the cars that passed them while waiting for us. Apparently they didn't realize that we'd passed them a LONG time before that. Haha.

Sunday morning, I went to Dan's ward because he was teaching combined Priesthood/Relief Society. His and Natalie's lesson was so good. I think my favorite part was when they talked about how important it is to be modest and morally clean. Natalie said that if a guy is trying to spend the night or is letting you spend the night, he's not respecting you as a daughter of God.

Sunday night, we may or may not have participated in the heist of a certain DVD. It's still up for debate as to whether we were active participants or not. If it did happen, it was quite thrilling, and Abbie and I certainly got a good work out from it when we ran back to our apartment.

Monday was the same old same. Except holy cow stressful! BYU application was due Feb 1 and I had to get so much crap done for it. I guess it doesn't really help that I'm a killer procrastinator so I was writing my essays in between my patho class and my sociology class. But hey it all got done and before 4 pm and that's all that counts. So I went to my writing class and peach is in that class, but get this: we don't even acknowledge each others existence. It's honestly quite irritating...and I'm not even sure why because it shouldn't bug me but it really does. OH it gets even better though...peach deleted me from facebook. BAHAHA I almost friend requested peach but then I thought better of it and decided who cares.

SIDE NOTE: it's been raining!! and blowing up a hellish storm. It's somewhat irritating and I had a super hard time getting out of bed this morning because I just wanted to stay curled up in my bed and read a book.

Monday night we went to FHE and learned about the 10 commandments and the little actions that go with it. So the guy that taught the lesson...well let's call him Howie. So Howie comes up and starts talking to me after FHE. We were eating dessert and everyone else was playing bump out. At the risk of sounding super conceited, he was definitely flirting it up with me asking all the questions: OH I didn't catch your name? How long have you been here? Blah blah blah. Well I immediated decided I had to nip this one in the butt fast so that I a. Don't lead him on. and b. could still potentially be friends--alright acquaintances--if I see him at church and stuff. So I noticed he had a sports med shirt on and asked him if he worked down in the training room at all. He answered yes and so I had a way to bring up Dan without being ridiculously obvious about it. The next part of the conversation goes as follows:

Me: Oh so you do you work down there (the training room) a lot?
Howie: Yeah I do!
Me: That's cool. So do you know Dan?!
H: Umm maybe?
Me: He's short and brown.
H: Oh yeah I know him, he's pretty cool, helps me out a lot.
Me: That's awesome! He's my boyfriend!
H: Oh your boyfriend?!
Me: Yeah!
H: Wow.....cool.

OHHH man I had to keep myself from laughing because it really was quite funny but sad at the same time. I didn't mean to be so cut and dry, but hey he'll thank me later when he doesn't have to waste time on me right?

I'd say it's been a pretty eventful weekend and it can only get better. Raegan is wearing a moo moo and looks like an old lady with stage make up on that she had to do in class. Point made. And now we are off to visit Hannah.

Making fettucini alfredo tonight for the roommates and my love. Hopefully this time I won't burn it...the distraction will be in class. ;] Well idk...Raegan might be a huge distraction right now...she's walking around with a big butt shake. Hahaha I love my roommates what can I say.

:] LOVE MY LIFE.

I'm BACK!!!

WRITTEN ON TUESDAY JANUARY 11:
Wahoo! Back in Thatcher! And honestly it feels so good to be back and be with my friends and our "little" circle of people and doing things again. Winter break almost killed me...I did absolutely NOTHING! I'm sure getting my wisdom teeth out didn't help too much, but I just like hanging out with my momma whenever I go home and I never hang out with anyone...so long story short, I'm probably a jerk for not wanting to really do anything, but oh well. It happens. My bad.

So lets rewind a couple of days back to Saturday...ZIPPPP! Okay so Dan came up on Saturday and I was so ridiculously excited that I couldn't even stand it! So he texts me around 11 and tells me he is going to be a little late...bummer :[ But it's alright, because that gives me some more time to clean up the atrocity of a bathroom and Ethan's room. Then I've got Ethan and Chandler asking me every 5 minutes: WHEN IS DAN GOING TO BE HERE?! WHEN IS HE COMING?! Ahhhhh!! I thought I was going to die slowly. Alright, not quite that dramatic, but you catch my drift.

He FINALLY gets to my house and I still hadn't gotten ready because I'd been cleaning up till the minute that he got there (don't worry, I got it all done!). My poor boyfriend...honestly I feel bad for the guy and I probably should do something to fix it, but I really don't care--Abbie and I were just talking yesterday about how I have absolutely no shame and don't really care what anyone says about it either. I try though! This sounds so bad, like I never get ready and look frumpy all the time. It's probably true. Alright I'll try to get ready from now on. Try being the key word. I expect an epic fail to come out of this.

Back to the story: he gets to my house and then we ended up going out to dinner...which believe me it is harder to chew lettuce with four gaping holes in your mouth than you would expect. Don't worry, I cleaned up and got ready, and I think I looked pretty cute. Haha you'll have to ask Dan.

After dinner, we came back and made lemon bars. Dan and Chandler had a contest to see who could make the best ones. Well if you ask me, they tasted the same, but apparently, Dan put in a cup less of sugar. So maybe they should've tasted worse?! But they all tasted good.

We ended up watching Holes and were up till 230 in the morning! Now let's keep in mind that 1. That is SUPER LATE! and 2. we had to be in east Mesa by 830 the next morning, which means leaving my house by no later than 745. Well as you can imagine, I set my alarm and pushed the snooze and wake up to Dan shaking my arm at 715. CRAP!! Well don't worry, we made it to church...at 829 on the dot. Haha it was Dan's greenie's homecoming, so that was cool to meet him and hear his talk. Holy cow though, his Spanish was SOOOOO FAST!! Haha it was kinda funny because he was just going and there was no stopping him.

We came back to my house and watched the Jungle Book and then went over to my friend Sam Liang's house and talked to her and saw her two little kiddos. Oh man they are so stinkin cute and probably one of the few reasons I want to have kids one day. So we were over there for a few hours and then when we were leaving, I asked Ronen for a hug and he looks and me like he's contemplating it, and then says: I don't have anymore hugs. Hahah little kids say the funniest things!

Monday, I went in to get a new tire and get them rotated, got a couple of shots from the doctors office, and then went home to wait for my car to be done so we could leave! We ended up meeting my momma for lunch at PF Changs! YUMMM lettuce wraps!! Well long story short, my car needs to get fixed :[ The ball joints need to be replaced. Sad day. So we didn't end up leaving till 230! To make things better, there was an accident when we were almost out of Mesa. It seriously took 45 minutes to go 3 miles. AWFUL!! So Dan and I ended up talking to each other on speaker phone through the whole accident and were talking about the funniest things.

Long story short...my boyfriend is just the cutest thing ever. And I missed him entirely too much over break.

You know you live in Arizona when you go tanning by the river in January

Seriously...the lives my roommates and I live. It's so hard, just let me tell you. Okay not really, I mean we went tanning by the freaking river today and read our books...while giggling like little girls about all sorts of things...mostly boys.

So yeah, we lead a pretty rough life down here. But today proved to be quite the adventure. So Raegan has been dying to go to the river for the last two day! Why you might ask? I haven't the faintest idea...she's a freak! And the water is freezing!! But today we decided to appease her, and we got all dressed to go. We decided to go to Cluff Ponds. Well, my car is currently in the process of dying on me. Go figure...it's all paid off and now it decides to start falling apart. Oh well, I guess it's about time something happened. That car is as trusty rusty as it gets. So the point of telling that was to tell you that Raegan had to drive out to Cluffs.

Well, it turns out the road is a lot smoother than I thought. Anyway, we get out to Cluffs and there are a million and one people there!!! What the heck! We just wanted to lay on the dock and read our books and tan...but apparently it was the day to go out fishing at four in the afternoon! I mean shouldn't they be at work or something?! So we decided to go to the river...after exploring a little bit of course down primitive roads and through barricades that were blocked off. Yes we're quite daring and adventurous down here...it's usually Raegan's fault.

On our way to the river, the highway was all blocked off! We later found out after running into an angry police officer (he really was quite rude--we just wanted to know where we should turn around), we found out that a tractor tipped over into the ditch!! How sad! I hope the guy that was driving it is okay.

We finally made it down to the river, layed out, and read our books and talked about boys and everything else for probably an hour or so. Then Abbie decided she was entirely too cold and we left. All in all, it was a pretty successful day...working on the tan and spending time with the roomies...but I still haven't applied to BYU. My mom JUST MIGHT kill me. Don't tell her....Abbie!

Quotes of the day:
Abbie to Cody: You just lost your privileges.

"Eat shit and die!"
"You are too twisted for colored TV."
"You are evil and you must be destroyed.
Mother Nature is taking care of that faster than you will."

I've got a little itch...

And this itch is just making me want to get back to Thatcher that much faster...and NO it's not just to see Dan! Although, that added bonus that he'd be just up the street is all the more appealing.

I miss my friends, and I've realized the pathetic state of my existence here in my own home...which really doesn't feel like home. I think anyone that's moved out can relate to that. Don't get me wrong, I love being here and it probably wouldn't be so pathetic if I wasn't put up on the couch, popping ibuprofen like it's candy (sorry liver, I promise I'll stop soon), and drinking milkshakes up the wahzoo because it hurts to chew anything, I might just be out doing something. Okay, let's be realistic, probably not. So if anything, this just gets to be my excuse. YES!

I got a phone call from Nicole Baldwin last night and I seriously can't tell you how much I've missed her! It's seriously ridiculous! I miss all my friends, especially my roommates, and staying up till all hours of the night laughing hysterically or sneaking around playing ninjas to spy on each other (I was the usual recipient of these spying activities). I miss driving passed the temple coming into town and leaving it. I miss Pima burritos...and I've got such a craving for one right now as I'm typing this. Haha. I miss Thatcher. Wow...okay maybe not Thatcher, okay yes Thatcher, and all the people in it.

On a brighter note, Dan's coming up on Saturday!! Yay!! Don't worry...I'm not excited about this at all. LIES! I can't wait! I've been excited since Monday and it's honestly agonizing to sit on the couch and pray that the hours go a little faster and Saturday will come a little sooner. Well it's practically here! So on tomorrow's to do list, besides finish the quilt: clean up Ethan's room and pull out the extra bed, general pick up of the house, oh and somehow make this swelling go away so I'm some what presentable by Saturday. Any suggestions?

So I have just realized how random this post is; it's pretty much all over the place. Woops. My mind is every where and no where all at the same time! Poop. Well it's almost Saturday, and Grey's anatomy is on! Yay. I'm sure I will have a grand blog post for Saturday...if there's time for that. I mean after all, I haven't seen him for almost 3 weeks! KILLER. Knife through the heart. Alright...enough with the dramatics. You get it. I'm excited. End of story. Goodnight.

Life is a song, Love is the music.

It makes her feel close.

So I like sleeping with the Mater side of my blanket closest to me. It makes me feel just a little bit closer, like somehow it makes him not as far away.

I’ve let go…finally. I guess three months into a serious relationship is about dang time to let it go. As much as I’d like to think my own little noodle came up with this on its own, it didn’t. I had a little help (okay a lot of help) along the way.

It’s time. Time to recognize the beautiful blessings I’ve been given, and that there is a time and a season for everything. I was given one of the greatest blessings in a friend at that point in my life in Jake Clark.

He was everything I could have ever asked for in a friend and always knew what to say or how to say it even if I didn’t want to hear it, especially when I didn’t want to hear that. I will forever and always cherish the friendship we made and I will be grateful to him for a very, very long time for all the things I have learned from him. I’ve learned to be a little more patient and understanding of people and what is going on—now I’m still working on it. It’s a constant work in progress. Anyone that is around me for an extended amount of time could tell you that. But I am trying. I’ve also learned to rely on the Lord, not from him, but he was always a good example of just the basic and simple reading your scriptures and saying your prayers on a daily basis.

In learning to more fully rely on the Lord, I have recognized another blessing I’ve been given in Dan Haban. I honestly for the life of me cannot figure out why he has stuck around for so long when it’s taken me this long to realize what I have! Holy crap I probably would’ve hit the road running a LONG time ago. I’m still learning from him, so much. I’ve learned how to laugh and have fun in new ways. I mean who would’ve ever thought that getting eaten alive by mosquitoes while coyote calling would be fun…but it is! Or making a “love-sac” from two yards of bright orange fleece? Or even just turning the couches around and watching Grey’s Anatomy? I can honestly say I don’t think I’ve ever had so much fun and been so happy.

Talking to Abbie tonight helped me realize some things too. Jake is always going to be a friend. That is not changing. I’ll still write him letters because that’s what friends do: support and uplift each other. But Dan…he’s something different. And I intend to hold onto that for a long time.

I don’t know how much of this is making sense because well it’s almost 3 in the morning and I’ve been slightly delusional for the last couple of hours…I’m blaming Raegan and Abbie…oh and Martinelli’s.

Recognize a good thing…a great thing…perhaps the best thing, when you’ve got it. And then do all that you can to hold onto it. I’m glad I’ve recognized mine. Have you?

See 2011: I’m already just a little wiser…and it’s only been 3 hours! Think of what a whole year will do!

Ignite the Light and Let it SHINE.

So it's New Years Eve and this year's definitely not been what I expected at all. I tend to think of my years relative to the school year. So in thinking about the actual year...I've gotta go WAYYY back to last semester. So far!! I know. I'm getting old. Blah.

Sparing the boring and drawn out details...I'll just recap the year really (and I mean really) quickly. Ideally 12 sentences or less.
January: Second semester of college, I've got the hang of things a little better, and a new roommate.
February: New roommate (Brinlee) turns out to be just the perfect fit, Valentines day--absolutely hate it...okay "hate" is a little strong, but you get the idea...not my favorite holiday.
March: SPRING BREAK!! California and Disneyland=LOVE. Met Dan at the library (see what good little students we are...we met at the library!)
April: Hmm...not too much to say here. Pretty sure this was the first official date with Dan watching planet earth eating popcorn and drinking hawaiian punch, spent lots (and I mean lots) of time floating down the river, which conveniently worked out to always be on Tuesdays so Hannah and I frequently went to nutrition smelling like delicious river mud nastiness.
May: Some things literally went to hell and I never planned on them coming back, finished my first year of college, and headed home, more relieved than anything to be leaving Thatcher and parting ways with some people.
June: Work work work all week long, and I can't complain too much. It kept me busy and from thinking about a lot of things. Enjoyed soaking up the summer sun every chance I got. ALSO: Everyone left on their missions!! And so the mass letter writing begins...
July: Work work work...visit Utah and see all the cousins, family, explore Provo Canyon, and visit the Clarks.
August: Work, back to school. I learned a lot about forgiveness and gave up my vices. Started talking to a few people again. Went to FRY MESA the first weekend back in Thatcher.
September: Peppersauce Caves in Tuscon, Rees and Tracee's wedding, going on a second "first date" with Dan to see the Last Exorcism....which I'm pretty sure I swore under my breath the entire time and then laughed as soon as it was over.
October: GF status. Yeahhh...still adjusting to that one. Halloween block party :]
November: Thanksgiving break...much much much needed and I can't exactly say I was excited to go back to school, except to see Dan. ONE
December: Meeting the fam...went MUCH better than I had planned. Missing him entirely too much it's honestly quite ridiculous, but I guess that's what happens. Christmas in Utah, seeing all the cousins, mass insanity. Oh and snow in Arizona...right in my backyard. Got into the nursing program...and then deciding not to do it at EA. Probably one of the hardest decisions I've had to make in a long time. Relying on the Lord that He knows what's best and has the best intentions for me.

So now I'm sitting here looking at where I've been and where I'm going, and honestly if there's one thing I've learned this last year, NOTHING goes according to plan. It's quite frustrating but I'm managing. Let's see what next year brings. :]

Here's to 2010 and all the ups and downs. As for 2011: Bring it on!
