It really sucks when

You want to talk to your fiance and you're super excited about it....and then out of no where the conversation heads south. And I mean wayyyy south. SUCK A FISH!!!

Seriously, this has FML written ALL OVER IT.

It's really hard to even pretend to enjoy spring break and trying to plan a wedding when they just aren't happy and their upset that they can't see you. Well so am I! But you don't see me crying about it every freaking day. It's life. We knew it was going to suck when we signed up for this. So you have a good cry, and press on. It still sucks, but you don't let it affect your each and every moment. Maybe I keep too much inside, but seriously, I've been depressed enough all week about it and I was actually having a great day all day and now I'm just pissed.

Ironically, great quote I found on Monday when we were shopping:

"If you want to be happy, be."

Awkward conversations.

So I still have 2 hours before class starts!! Ahhh...then I can leave and go home! It's seriously crawling by. I just might die. On a brighter note, I definitely had one of the funniest/most awkward conversations of my life last night. Okay, so it wasn't really awkward, the subject matter is though. So if' you're faint of heart, stop reading...because the next few paragraphs might shock your heart right out of you.

Last night, Abbie and I went downstairs to Nicole's apartment to visit her. Well, then we started talking about getting married and stuff and Tiffany asked me if I was gonna go get waxed? HELL NO!!That crap hurts! I can barely make it through my eyebrows without tearing up, and you just wanna jump the gun straight to the big mama? Bahhhh... Then we proceeded to argue, okay not really argue, but discuss the different sides. Nicole votes no because "he's gonna sleep with you anyway." But Tiffany says yes because it would be nicer or something like that.

Anyway, I still have yet to decide...no worries. I've got 2 months to figure this out haha. I'll take a poll. I'm pretty sure I know what answer I'm gonna get though. Suck. A Fish. Two of them.

Speaking of awkward conversations, my sister (Rylee) just texted me two of the most random things ever! My bridal shower is next Saturday, and this is what she said to me:

"Ha well that should be interesting. Do u think people r gonna buy u lingerie :P"

WTH?! Seriously I was shocked. The next one is better.

"Hahaha!! Shar said that for robs wife mandy her friends got her like nasty stuff like hard core corsets and junk. I hope u don't get that stuff :P"

Seriously, this little smiley face at the end is freaking me out.
Poor Rylee...if only she knew. haha.

Spring Break Fever

Stressor to the max. I've even got the break out to prove it. Sucks. So let's start from the beginning shall we?
Thursday of last week, Dan and I drove up to the valley for Shawn and Erin Nimmer's wedding. The drive was fine, and then when we got up there, we had a couple of hours to spare, so we went to register at Target. Okay, for some reason, every little thing lately is stressing me out to the point that I just want to cry about everything. We walk into Target, and get set up for everything, and take the gun to go scanner happy. Well, for some strange reason, I just got seriously irritated with Dan about nothing! I feel so bad for him...and I've got no reason for any of it. I'm just a freaking emotional roller coaster. So pretty much I was stressed about figuring out colors for my  bedroom! Are you kidding me?! Honestly, all the big things I'm not too worried about, but all the small stupid insignificant things that don't even matter are stressing me out to no end!

So long story short, registering ended up being pretty fun, especially when we got to the kitchen aisle and to the movies! It was awesome! Then we had to get to the temple, but we stopped at In N Out before. Yumm! But the chocolate shake was a little too much. So Dan gets to the temple and I sat under a tree and waited for them to be done. Well, sitting under that tree, I suddenly got really excited to be married to Dan. I can't wait to walk out of those doors. It's going to be the BEST DAY EVER!

After they got out of the temple, I got super duper sick. It sucked so bad. Killer migraine+HEAT=sick sick sick. I couldn't even go to the reception that night. So thank goodness for bryson and kassidy. They let me just crash on their couch and watch greys anatomy episodes. By the end of the night, I ended up feeling so much better.

Friday we drove back, and spent the evening planning for the wedding. Then later in the week, I was picking out wedding invitations--worst thing ever! Seriously there are so many different types and it's ridiculous. TO pick out just one...ugh. So anyway, I ended up picking one and my mom didn't like it. GREAT. Then she steered me in the direction of the ones that would be more "theme appropriate" for my wedding. So I was thinking to myself: why the heck didn't she just show me those ones in the first place?! Well I ended picking one, and 4 different revisions later, ended up picking out a final announcement.

Seriously, weddings are so much strain on the mother/daughter relationship. It's awful. My mom and I don't fight about too much of anything. We're pretty level headed in that we can talk it out...but seriously, I feel like we're fighting about everything...and stupid stuff at that. I know she's not trying to stress me out, and I'm trying to be nice and not get upset with her. But it is so hard...so so hard. I was in tears over my announcement the other day because it wasn't what I wanted. Don't worry, it's just perfect now.

Anyway, I just made cookies...and I'm feeling extremely fat and frumpy lately. I need to go work out. I have a dress to fit into. Seriously. So no more soda, and no more eating out. I've got to get my butt in gear...especially since I'm gonna start taking birth control--and let's face it, that just makes everyone fat. YUCK.

So long story short, I've got spring break fever...bad. I can't wait to get out of this town and back home. I don't want to be away from Dan, but I need to get so much done, and I don't want to take out my stress on him. So it's probably best that we take a little break. I don't want to, but sometimes you've got to do things you don't want to. End of story.

Oh the scandalous life I lead...

So I just realized in the midst of Abbie cracking up while she’s writing her research paper rough draft (that’s due in less than 8 hours I might add) and sucking down her second 44 oz DP for the day, that while everyone was over earlier…our closet door was WIDE OPEN.

Now while this may not seem like a terribly tragic event, it really is. Detrimental in fact. Let me elaborate…but only a little further because you see I have a test in 12 hours that I still have yet to study for. No worries, it’s just Sociology. But I would be in bed and fast asleep right now if it weren’t for freaking facebook. That’s for another paragraph.

Back on topic: today was laundry day, so naturally I washed my bras. Well, I don’t know about you, but I don’t dry my bras in the dryers. They wear out faster…and let’s face facts: when you have to wear the sucker every day for a large portion of the day, they wear out fast enough on their own. No need to speed up the process. So I always hook them together and drape them across my hanging shoe rack in my closet. It provides the perfect place to both conceal them and dry them as well.

So you see, when everyone was over…they got a GREAT view of all my scandalous delicates—aka the bras.

And one more thing…facebook is of the devil!! I seriously got on the computer to resend and email at 1215. I checked facebook just to see if there were any notifications or messages. There were. Checked, replied, and then I made the fatal mistake. I started reading the news feed…and then proceeded to stalk a few people, creep on their pictures, found out someone was pregnant…and then came to terms (or merely made the observation) that everyone is either getting married or pregnant! Holy cahmoly! I’m not joking…it’s like the plague! And I got sucked into it!

Oh well…I’d take him any day. So that’s that. Facebook is evil. My delicates were on parade tonight. And I haven’t shot myself over wedding planning yet. Bahaha…probably because I haven’t really started. That is all. The end. Goodnight.

So...I won't die a virgin

Day 2: Yeah...I'm engaged. So here's the story...

So after the "break the fast" thing with Dan's ward today around 5 ish, Dan took me to his brother's grave. I've never been and it sounds kind of creepy, but it was a very humbling experience. Life is so frail and so fragile and its not ours to decide when we leave it. But it was so peaceful being there. Dan made the comment that I would've loved his brother, just being around him and hanging out. From what I've heard of Matt and him and his parents talking about Kameron, it sounds like we would've gotten along pretty well. It makes me excited to get married in the temple because I know he'll be there as well as my grampa. Oh man it's going to be so nice to feel their presence there.

Anyway, back to the story. After we left Kameron's grave, we went to the temple just to walk around the grounds. It's always peaceful there, and definitely helps clear your head sometimes. So Dan pulls out all the envelopes from last night and had me go through them all with what each clue was about. I get to the end, and there's a clue 17. I think I did a double take. What the heck?!

Clue 17: I bet you thought that this hunt was done, but now I got you with me looking at the sun. The Arizona sunset can't get anymore pretty, but nothing's more pretty than the girl that's before me. Inside this envelope you have more instructions, so the both of you can stop any more destruction. Read them to each other, but do it one by one. But please have a smile because this is gonna be fun. Read them slowly and make sure you both do it right, but make sure you finish before you run out of light. Arielle Mecham I know you've been waiting a long time for me, just remember we don't need time, we have eternity.
*Take your cards and give Dan his.

HIS CARDS: 1. Tell me how much you love me! 2. Tell me how good looking I am! 3. Tell me you love me and give me a kiss! 4. Tell me how much I means to you!

MY CARDS: 1. Tell me how much you love me! 2. Tell me how beautiful I am!!! 3. Tell me you love me and give me a kiss! 4. Tell me how much I mean to you!   LAST INSTRUCTION!! Tell me to get down on one knee!!

Okay this last instruction card actually ended up in his pile, so he took my cards and put it in there and then I had to go look through for it. I read it and my eyes got big and started welling up with tears (Abbie told me I was gonna cry! Stinker butt!) and he's looking at me smiling and telling me to read it out loud! I just looked at him and started crying. I gave him a huge hug and was just smiling and pulling the ring out of his pocket. Then he got down on one knee and put the ring on my finger.

And the rest they say is history...or shortly will be.

Aside from that, on a funnier note, last night I left my phone and keys in Dan's car so I borrowed Abbie's truck and drove over to go get them out of his car. No big deal right? So I walk into his apartment and go back to his room and pick his keys up off his desk (he's sitting at his desk preparing his lesson) and then I just explain that I'm getting my keys and phone. So I get them out of his car, and when I walk back into his apartment, he's just standing there leaning against the wall looking at me. And honestly, he's looking pretty peeved at this point. So I go put his keys back in his room on his desk and start walking out. He said goodnight and I just left. I seriously didn't think just showing up was that bad, especially just to get my keys.

But get this, right next to his keys on his desk was the box that the ring was in. I had no idea it was there and I didn't even see it! I was seriously so tunnel-visioned last night that I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary at all. Apparently it was right there...and I totally missed it. Haha.

So that's that. And the countdown begins.

PS. This is the end of the forever long date. Apparently Dan told the jeweler that if I had to wait till Wednesday to get the ring like it was supposed to be, I would have broken up with him. Pshhh...as if. But lucky for me and much to his relief, it was done yesterday!!

Today was a fairytale.

Day 1 (Evening): So I think tonight was the end of it...in fact I'm pretty sure it was. The other day, we watched a movie called "12 Rounds" and basically if you've never seen it, this guy's girlfriend gets kidnapped and he has to do twelve tasks to get her back. Well in the spirit of that movie, Dan sent me on a little scavenger hunt tonight and it had 16 Rounds, or memories of what we've done together. So I'm gonna share that with you.

Clue 1: Riddle me this: You were being and outdoors woman. Fitting in with my family's tradition. Now you are going to the house of this man who lives witht he girl of his dreams. Here is your hint: his first catch made you scream!
--Fishing over President's day weekend in Sierra Vista; Matt's fish made me scream.

Clue 2: We went to the valley to be with your family. I almost peed my pants because your mom said I had to talk to your daddy. We went to a game and we stood on the ice. Here is your hint: you received a present that'll keep you warm aren snuggie at night.
--A snuggie; we went to the Coyotes game in February and they were given away at the entrance.

Clue 3: It was cold. It was wet, but we will never forget. Where with snow balls we were peggin and at the end you tackled Raegan. Here is your hint: I left all of mine up there, where can I find some?
--Tubes; we got our tubes that we took up to the mountain to play in the snow from Reynold's Tires.

Clue 4: You and I know we are best friends, until it comes to sports and that just ends. We went to this game not knowing the outcome, but nevertheless we all had a lot of fun. When we're together it's still going to be UofA vs. ASU, what roommates do you know now that aer exactly like this, think hard...there are only a few!
--Brian, Dan's roommate, is a die-hard ASU fan; Dan's apartment.

Clue 5: This one is tough, and they're gonna get tougher. But hit splace I pass when I want to get buffer. He's funny he's cute especially in a suit, as an RM from Holland he also spoke to us at the tute. Lead me guide me!
--Kirby Heyborne; He had a concert at the auditorium when he came to Thatcher.

Clue 6: This was a fun night, one I will never forget. It was a group date and we had a little contest. Now two things happened in this place, the outcome of them you still keep close to your face. The first one I'm talking about came out of love, and the second one was made in preparation for the little guy waiting from above.
--The baby maker and the love sac; We got the fabric for both of them in the WalMart fabric department. The love sac was from a group date where we had $15 and 20 minutes to come up with a costume. The baby maker we made just for kicks and giggles for little kiddos one day.

Clue 7: This is a good one, one that I love. You have to take me to the exact spot where this was placed under my shield. I wish I had word to tell you how it really made me feel. When I read it I wanted to see you, but I came home too late froma sport even that I had to do. If you need a picture hint you may ask for one!
--The last staff parking spot by the math/science building; I left him a little note when he went on a trip with the volleyball team and put it under his windshield wipers just telling him that I missed him.

Clue 8: You are such a stinker, I can't believe I never knew. You were there the whole time, and I almost got ya when you guys stopped to buy a dew. But you did a good job hiding, and this is your clue. You hid from me in this place, that I could have seen you, but her windows I couldn't see through.
--Megan's car; I hid in the back seat of her car when we stopped at the gas station to get a dew. I surprised Dan in church the next day at Jared's homecoming.

Clue 9: This one is important! This day you will never forget! It took me so dang long, from the day we first met. Even that night, it took me forever, all I knew is that we loved being together. One long night and two movies later, this certain thing happened, it was one of my greatest days ever!
--My couch in my apartment; It was where we first kissed.

Clue 10: It was a first time thing and you weren't really used to it, you weren't sure if you wanted to go but you never did throw a fit. When we were all ready you couldn't stop laughing, and the mosquitoes raped us while we were passing. You were the first girl to ever shoot my gun, needless to say we had a lot of fun!
--Out by Hubbard cemetary; We went coyote calling and I couldn't even bring myself to blow into the caller. It sounded so ridiculous, and yes we got raped by mosquitoes. I think I had 26 bites all over my arms.

Clue 11: It was another first, but definitely not a last. I took you to this place and we had a good laugh! At first it was weird and then it got really scary, a problem young lady whose priest was a little bit sketchy.
--Sapphire movie theaters; We saw "The Last Exorcism" and laughed through the whole thing at the ridiculousness of it.

Clue 12: A special moment we will never forget, it was a first time for the both of us. I'm really glad that I went. From room to room it was absolutely beautiful. Hopefully the next trip together will be even more useful! If you haven't gotten it yet, here is a little hint: It's a central part of our marriage and it was the reason why the Lord was sent.
--the Temple; We went to the open house together.

Clue 13: This certain place will definitely be a memory. A certain road that made the night a little bloody. We had a good time and everyone was okay. If our kids say, "Daddy where did you get that scar...?" I'll know what you say :]
--Alder Estates; Mattress surfing and we crashed and flew through the air and Dan ended up getting scraped up on the back of his arm and his wrists.

Clue 14: We're coming to the end, but now I want to go to the beginning. It was at this place that really got me thinking. No it's not the place where we studied anatomy first, but let's just say it allowed me to appreciate why I live on this earth.
--The Udall house; We had our first date here and watched Planet Earth and at popcorn and drank hawaiian punch

Clue 15: After this there is only one more. I hope this isn't making your head sore. But going back to clue number 14, I'm sure it was a date that's what it really seemed. We went to go get Hawaiian punch, popcorn and nothing more...Where was this place? I already forgot the store!?!?!
--Bashas; We bought green Hawaiian punch and popcorn before going back to watch Planet Earth.

Clue 16: Here's my last clue and I hope it takes you way back. Because of this instant we started this journey of falling in love, that's a fact! Since this moment we've benn through a lot of thick and thin. But I wouldn't take anything back tht ahs happened. I want you to know that I'm glad we made it through...Arielle, take me back to the place where I started to talk to the girl I'm going to be married to!
--EAC library; We were both studying for anatomy one night at different tables and ended up talking to each other and let's just say that the rest is history.

He's so cute. Definitely the romantic in our relationship. I love him...so so much. And so much more than I could ever say. :]

The forever long date...

So I just have a few minutes, and I really should be getting ready because Dan will be here in less than 30 minutes, but I just don't quite want to put make up on yet. I don't know if any one else has had those kind of days, but I seem to have them quite a lot. Anyway, that's not the point of the story.

THE POINT IS that I have embarked on a forever long date with Dan...and by forever long I mean this might just last for the next 3 or 4 days, which I'm still not sure how I feel about it because let's face it: Arielle lacks 0 patience. So I'm going to blog about it as it goes along.

DAY 1 (Morning): We made fried rice with spam for lunch this afternoon! My favorite. Seriously, it's pathetic...I love spam! I don't quite know what happened to me but my momma would just laugh if only she knew how much I loved it. SO we made fried rice and then ate it straight out of the pan with huge wooden spoons! I don't quite remember the word Dan used for it, but that's how he and his brothers always ate it. It was actually pretty fun and definitely a new experience. We watched the Jungle Book while we ate too.

Then we went to go fly a kite! Ahh man I forgot how much fun that is! It was awesome and the wind was perfect today...not too crazy, but just enough to keep the kites up. We seriously did that for almost 2 hours. We got some snowcones to top off the afternoon and ended up getting a free ice cream with it--they had made an extra so we got to eat it! We went back to his apartment and finished the Jungle Book.

So...now I have a little less than 20 minutes to put some make up on a get dressed. I think I can manage to look presentable in that amount of time. Best be off!!

Take a listen...

I'm such a goner...and I love him. The end.
